Currently the InputVlCamera module only supports synchronisation via a TCP network,
some other methods of synchronisation would be desirable. Most notable are:
- Serial connection, which uses a null-modem, RS-232 serial connection between
the two computers to communicate the synchronisation messages.
- Serial external trigger, which would use a double-pole, single-throw (probably
momentary) switch attached to the serial ports of the computers to trigger when
images are taken.
- Standard external trigger, which would use the external trigger found on some
webcams (such as the
cam) to trigger the capturing of the
images.
